MCC is proud to Observe

MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. DAY

People seem to forget that Martin Luther King, Jr. was a fighter.  Sure, he used non-violent tactics, but make no mistake about it, he was a true fighter, in every sense of the word.

At the Maywood Chamber of Commerce, we honor the fact that Dr. King was smart, courageous, and determined.  We are grateful for his vision, faith, principles, and compassion.  He was a leader, servant, and teacher.

Dr. King fought the Good Fight, and because he did, Americans, especially Black Americans, enjoy freedoms and opportunities prior generations could only imagine.

We encourage you to find ways to make the day meaningful to you and to the people you hold dear.  If you are unsure how to honor the life, service, sacrifice, and fights of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., then consider the possibilities listed below.

1.

Advance Peace, Justice, Equality, Inclusion, Opportunity, and Development

2.

Demonstrate Dignity, Compassion, Respect, and Resolve

3.

Elevate Kindness and Civility over Cruelty and Rage

4.

Give a DAMN about things that will MATTER to future generations

5.

Defend DEMOCRACY – Fiercely!

6.

VOTE in EVERY Election

7.

Recommit to Fighting the Good Fight

Making Our Way – Together!

One of the rewards of being an MCC Member is having opportunities to form friendships with peers who are just as eager to see you succeed, as they are to succeed themselves.

The Maywood Chamber of Commerce is as strong as its Members; so, we invite you to connect with us and share your thoughts on how we can do more to serve our Members.  Together, we can do great good, for Ourselves, Our Chamber, and Our Village.

We look forward to helping you – help us – to make 2022 an outstanding year, and one of the best ever!
